This baby's nest crashed to the ground in the 80 mile an hour straight
line winds we had here in Dallas last night.

Give these two videos a second or two to load.
You'll see what a chow hound this little birdy is, lol.
June 8,2004...one week later, doubled in size

June 12,04...got almost all my feathers now! Just ignore the baby bird formula that
is stuck to my feathers and around my beak, lol

Little Bird and I went outside for her first test flights this week! She thought flying was pretty
neat stuff too. She flew up to a pretty high tree branch and played coy and strutted along the branch and
fussed at me from way high up. She picked at the bark and then started trying to figure
out how to get back to mom, lol. She couldn't quite master the landing gear and kept missing my head, lol.
She went to a couple other trees then the fence and I told her to "step up" and she did.
She was excited about her new found flying apparatus but she was also very relieved to be back with her mom for the time being, lol.

Little Bird is now a wild thang as she was meant to be! I took her outside this
morning before work and she happily flew to the top of the fence. She perched up there eating ants and picking at
wood and other little bugs crawling along. I went back out to check on her before I left for work and didn't see her.
When I got home from work this afternoon I went out to call for her and didn't get a response in the backyard. Went through the house
to the front yard and and she replied from across the street, lol. She flew over to the top of
one of my tall trees in the front yard and sat up there and just chattered away to me from way up high, lol.
I was happy to see she was confident in herelf up there and not thinking she needed to come down to me. Little Bird
is on her own and wild once again!
