Tribute To a Puppy Mill Puppy
The sleet continues on a cold, winter night.
A puppy sits shivering, no end to his plight.
In a wire cage he wimpers, no way to get warm.
No place to find shelter from the terrible storm.
The wind whips around him, bits of ice sting his face.
He wonders what he did to end up in this place.
His paws have gone numb, the pads are bleeding.
In desolate eyes such a sad look of pleading.
Little empty eyes, devoid of all hope
He’s lost his will to live, he can no longer cope.
He waits till morning to watch the sun rise.
Then a deep sigh, eyes close, one small puppy dies.
