Archeologists in Pennsylvania have unearthed a very unusual dig site in
a small town called Ambler. It appears to be the site of some strange,
extinct tribe who all ran for their lives from what appears to be a huge
mudslide. They left behind many articles of their daily lives.
Apparently these women only used metal combs, tons of hair spray and
virtual mountains of black, brown and white eye shadow. There were also
tools with handles and metal, comb-like knives at the end. It is
speculated that these were probably used for opening oysters and other
shellfish. Lots of long, thin strips of leather were uncovered, believed
to be used as ornamental decorations by the high priestess. Oddly
enough, though they were meat eaters, the only evidence remaining of
their kills were the livers, probably considered to be poisonous by this
tribe. There were also a large number of ribbons uncovered, probably
used in the hair and on the clothing of the women. Though a rare purple
and white ribbon could be found, by far, the most popular colors were
red, yellow and white. These were found in abundance throughout the dig.
Since there is no sign of housing and the only furniture found was odd,
little folding chairs, some archeologists speculate that this site was
not a home site at all, but rather a gathering place for some peculiar
ancient ritual. Possibly even a gathering of many different tribes, for
a long lost ceremony, at the site of this tragic mudslide.
One can only wonder!
